Just a quick word of thanks to all of you who were at the Big Rock Music Barn on January 12. I had a wonderful time seeing old friends and making new ones. Thanks again and may God Bless You.

For those of you in the Chattanooga area, I will be doing a live TV broadcast on Dec. 30th on stations WFLI, WRCB channel 3 at 3:00 PM. If you enjoy good Gospel music with a solid message, please join me there.

The new Gospel album is now completed and will be available online within a few weeks. There are 8 of my favorite gospel songs on it and I hope it will be a blessing to everyone who hears it.

First, let me thank all of you who have sent comments on the new song I put up last week. I am deeply humbled by the overwhelming response to this song. Due to this response I am pushing very hard to finish an 8 song Gospel album and should have it ready within about 3 to 4 weeks. Anyone who would like to be notified when it is available is welcome to join the email list and I will notify you as soon as it is finished and available . Watching Freedom Ring has climbed to # 11 on the country chart at the Independent Music Network. It also made it's debut on the mainstream chart there at # 22. Thank you all for making this such a great success.

I just finished recording a new gospel song today that my brother and I wrote. It's called "When he wakes up tomorrow", and is about the excitement we can feel even when we're dying, because we know what God has in store for us.

With the move to Tennessee complete, I will be devoting a lot of time to creating new music. My new objective is to finish a complete Gospel album that I started working on back in June. I hope to have it finished sometime this fall.

I am leaving the trucking business to work on my music full time. I guess you could call this retirement after 37 years in the trucking business. :=)

I just want to let you all know that I am in the process of moving to Tennessee. I will be all done with the move around August 2nd. This move will put me close to Nashville and many of the people who have been instrumental in the making of my music.

I am on the way to Nashville again. I will be going to the studio on June 2 to record a couple of new gospel songs that I think will touch your heart. I will make them available for download as soon as possible. I plan to include them in a full gospel album later this year and hope this will be a blessing to you.

This afternoon as I was sitting in a truck stop in Baton Rouge, LA a man walked up to my truck and started talking to me about the poster on the side of my truck. The poster is the cover from my first Nashville album. We chatted about the types of music I sing and lots of music small talk. I told him I sing country and gospel music and played him my latest album while we talked about musicians, our past experiences in bar bands and the lives we had led years ago. Seems we have a lot in common. The greatest thing being the changes we have chosen to make in our own lives and really focus on what is really important which boils down to living a whole different life and being a testimony to the truth of the Gospel.

As we talked on I was intrigued as to why this man had chosen me out of over 100 truck drivers in the place to talk to. He simply looked me right in the eye and said “God brought us together for a reason”. I was amazed but somehow knew he was telling me the truth. As it turns out, he is the music director of a TV show on Sunday afternoon in Chattanooga, TN. He invited me to come and visit some Sunday and I thought that would really be nice. What he said next just about put me on my knees. He told me to just let him know when I would be in the area on a Sunday afternoon and I would have a full half hour spot on his TV show. This may not sound like much to most people but to me it is huge. That TV station reaches 85,000 homes! This man is also a Gospel songwriter. He stood beside my truck in a wide open parking lot and started to sing some of his songs for me. He sang with no music and yet I could hear it in my head. I asked him if anyone had ever recorded any of his songs and he politely said I was the first he had ever offered them to. He offered to send them to me at home so I could listen to them and decide if I wanted to record them. I am a nobody. This stuff is good enough to be #1 from what I heard. I’ve heard a lot of songs over the last 50 years and have learned that when a song makes me feel like my heart is swelling up and the tears start to form, it is one that needs to be heard by others. Maybe it’s just me but I know when I can feel the presence of God tugging at me. I felt this as I talked to this man and am sure I have made a new friend by the Grace of God. He’s got something in the plan for me I know and I am sitting here now trying to figure out what it is. I guess that’s the impatient human side of me saying
“Why don’t you just tell me and get it over with so I know what to do".

Next time you think something is too weird just remember, God works in mysterious ways and we just need to be paying attention. I know he sure got mine tonight.
